#####Written By Marc As James Bottled It !##### Somehow I have been conned into doing the write up. Our band of intrepid explorers converged on the national trust cafe on the A3 around 9 am. And before the first bacon sarni was ordered Geoff was seen to be effecting rather dubious repairs to his leaking petrol tank. Refreshments over we all headed the last few miles to the site. The car park was packed with a vast array of vehicles, far more than we have ever seen there before. Nigel Barker and his helpers had spent Saturday creating a one way system around the site. Dotted around the route where a series of "black" sections to keep winches and Tow ropes busy. After signing on we set of around the route, the first black section we came to was blocked by a Range Rover up to its axles in clagg, A twat in a yellow Dakar was trying to recover it using a strap and lots of welly!!! Lyndon's words where "that is going to break" just as he said that the Dakar shot forward the strap went tight and the tow point broke off the back on the Dakar and was catapulted into the front of the rangerover. We Decided to move on before someone got killed. It was at the second Black section that the write up was decided. A deeply rutted boggy run with a climb out of the end. The usual suspects made it through with their big tyres and buzzy little engines followed by me in the 90 and then James in is company car but alas he ground to a halt....much to my amusement, He had to delve up to his elbows in the smelly black mud to fix the rope on. Throughout the day we all got stuck once or twice and we all learnt just how bloody heavy G-wagens are. I think Nick may need to fit a winch just incase there are no fat gits around to pull him out ;-) And we were all impressed with the performance of the 2 month old 110 CSW that Steven brought along. But Paul and Lynns micra was somewhat less impressive in the back sections. And wasn't it nice a quiet without Lyndon's Buggy ;-) hopefully sorted for the next one. In all well organised day ,thankyou Nigel, and I think we all made it home in one piece and without the flatbed taxi. WANNA SEE THE PICS ???????? www.anoraks4x4.com
